Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Roadbook (roadbook.us), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What Roadbook is

Roadbook is a road trip planning tool that helps you organise itineraries, discover national parks and campgrounds, and collaborate with travel companions. Roadbook is not affiliated with any national park, campground operator, hotel, or booking service.

Campground availability information is sourced from Recreation.gov and is provided as-is. Always verify reservations and availability directly with Recreation.gov or the venue before making travel decisions.

3. Your account

You sign in using a Bluesky account via AT Protocol. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Keep your Bluesky credentials secure — Roadbook never has access to your Bluesky password.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the trip data, notes, comments, and other content you create on Roadbook. By making a trip public, you grant Roadbook a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content to other users of the service.

You must not post content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, or infringes the rights of others.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or extract data from Roadbook through automated means without permission.
• Attempt to access another user's private trips or account data.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.

6. AI-generated content

Waypoint summaries are generated by AI (Cloudflare Workers AI / IBM Granite model). AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Always verify important information — park hours, entrance fees, trail conditions, permit requirements — from official sources before your trip.

7. Third-party data

Roadbook surfaces data from the National Park Service, Recreation.gov, Unsplash, and Mapbox. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or availability of that data. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or practices.

8. No warranties

Roadbook is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, accuracy of drive-time estimates, or campground availability data.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Roadbook shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including but not limited to missed campground reservations, road closures, inaccurate AI summaries, or decisions made based on information displayed in the app.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a revised effective date. Continued use of Roadbook after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
